New Battersea oyster bar and brasserie

Bennett Oyster Bar, Brasserie & Wine Store promises a classy dining option south of the river Thames when it opens in Battersea Square, London, next February.

Developed by Ray Duhaney, creator of Bumpkin and former operations director at Ronnie Scott’s, Bennett’s also has the backing of Freddie Achom, the entrepreneur behind Jalouse club in Mayfair and founder of Rosemount Luxury Brand Group.

Aiming to showcase the very best ingredients from around the British Isles alongside classic French brasserie dishes, the 90-seat venue will serve a seafood-led range of dishes. Oysters will form the main focus, with supplier Rossmore bringing in oysters from Scotland, Ireland, Dorset and Jersey.

The venue also promises an “extensive” cellar compiled in partnership with Bibendum, complete with an Enomatic dispenser, which allows customers to try before they buy. Bottles are available both to take home or, for a small corkage free, to drink in the brasserie.

The rest of the drinks list includes a cocktail selection, overseen by world famous mixologist Andres Masso in conjunction with Jared Brown and Anastasia Miller.

In addition to its dining offer, Bennett’s will feature a grocery store, where customers will be able to purchase a selection of wine, English cheese, organic fruit and vegetables, fresh bread and flowers.
