UKs biggest restaurant prepares for opening

Pan-Asian buffet chain Cosmo is planning to open the UK’s largest restaurant in Croydon later this year.

The new Cosmo restaurant, with a capacity of 800, aims to bring food from across nine Asian countries to diners in one sitting, as well as traditional Sunday roasts and Italian dishes for the less adventurous eaters. The concept behind the new venture is to bring “all the world on a plate” to diners.

In accordance with the company’s philosophy, the new restaurant will combine fresh ingredients with diversity and entertainment through a selection of over 120 dishes on the menu and live cooking stations, allowing punters to see their food being prepared.

The brand originated as a Chinese buffet in Eastbourne, before branching out into Pan-Asian cuisine.

The “world kitchen” concept is described as being the third part of the brand development programme, with plans to open branches next in Manchester and Birmingham, followed by France, Spain, Germany and Holland.

Currently the restaurants receive a total of around 25,000 customers a week in the 12 outlets across the UK.

The Croydon venue is scheduled to open its doors in November.
