Parisian restaurant La Tour d’Argent, is selling offsome of its most prized possessions from its cellars, which are regarded by many to be the best in France.

Highlights of the sale from the restaurant’s 450,000 bottle selection include Château Lafite 1970, Château Latour 1982, Château Cheval Blanc 1928, Château Margaux 1970, Huet Vouvray 1919, Leroy Volnay Santenots 1969, while the spirits sale will include Grande Fine Champagne Monnet 1858 and Fine Champagne Clos de Griffer 1788.

The restaurant, whose wine list famously weights nine kilos, proclaimed the sale would ensure it is kept in the spotlight for the next generation of connoisseurs.
La Tour d’Argent, which is reputed to be more than 425 years old, keeps its wines and spirits in temperature-controlled storage and more than 4,000 bottles on its list cost more than E100 a bottle.

The sale will take place on 7 and 8 December in Paris and will be conducted by PIASA, a Parisian-based auctioneer.
