Darren Smith is a db staff writer and the editor of Wine List Confidential, our new wine list ratings website and app.
Darren spent several years working as a sub editor for newspapers and magazines, with a short but bracing detour into restaurant kitchens, before the wine bug bit.
He has worked in comms and retail roles for two London wine merchants and wrote about wine as a freelancer for about three years, on and off, before joining db.
Beyond drinking and writing about wine, he has a tentative ambition to make his own wine, and has so far worked on harvests in Fitou, Fleurie, Etna and Tenerife.
