M&S launches premium range of spirits in collaboration with distilleries
UK retailer M&S has launched an exclusive selection of top-of-the-range spirits and liqueurs in collaboration with some of the best-known distilleries in the UK and abroad, which feature both the distillery and the M&S label on the bottle.
The new Collection spirits, which comprises six spirits and two Irish cream liqueurs, have been created by M&S in collaboration with well-known distilleries including Warner’s, Glenfarclas, and renowned cognac house Hine. Each bottle will carry the name of the distillery on its label alongside the M&S Collection quality seal, in a first for the retailer.
The spirits includes a small-batch vodka made from oversized Jersey Royal potatoes by Royal Mash; a unique Old Tom gin from Northamptonshire-based Warner’s distillery; a Bajan rum from one of the Caribbean’s finest rum distilleries; a fine Champagne VSPO cognac from Hine; an Islay malt whisky from the Kilchoman distillery, and a Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt ten-year-old Scotch whisky. Two festive Irish cream liqueurs, Tiramisù and ‘Millionaire’s, made from Belgian chocolate, complete the range.
Jenny Rea, lead product developer for spirits and liqueurs at M&S Food, called the range “the best range of own-label spirits… on supermarket shelves”, that had been “a real labour of love”.
“It’s been an absolute joy to work with some of the world’s best distilleries over the past 12 months to bring this new collection to life,” she said. “Each of these exclusive collaborations has been the perfect partnership, leveraging the experience and unrivalled expertise of these renowned distillers while reassuring customers with the M&S Collection seal of quality that they already know and trust.”
“Each one is phenomenal quality and would make the ideal gift for friends and family this Christmas, or a treat for yourself if you’re a connoisseur.”
