Always Sunny stars release whiskey ad

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day star in a new advert to promote their Four Walls Irish American Whiskey.

It is apt that the hardworking staff at Paddy’s Pub in Philly should have launched their own Irish-American whiskey, indeed, the brand name ‘Four Walls’ is a reference to bar Dennis, Mac and Charlie call home.

Since its launch in 2022, Four Walls has become something of a cult hit, mirroring the success of the FX show, with the founders visiting Dublin earlier this year to promote the product as part of their podcast tour.

After the success of the limited edition drops, which retailed for US$999.95 Cask Strength Single Barrel Collector’s Edition and US$89.95 for The Bartender’s Blend, Howerton, McElhenney and Day’s Irish American Whiskey retails for somewhat more affordable US$34.99.

Day explained: “After our higher-end releases, it was important for us to make a whiskey priced that all of our fans could try and that bartenders would want to use in everyday drinks.”

The 80 proof spirit is a blend of grain and malt Irish whiskeys with American rye whiskey.

Now the trio have released a new online advert to show how this Atlantic-straddling whiskey really came to be:

During the retro-inspired sketch, Day’s triple-distilled Irish whiskey that “goes down real easy” becomes contaminated with Howerton’s “a little more bold” American Rye – the result, judging by Day’s face, is a revelation. It ends with the slogan: “Another great idea, born at the bar.”

“The three of us have come up with some of our best ideas and had some of our most memorable nights out together in unassuming rooms where great bartenders made us feel like a million bucks when we probably didn’t have a hundred between us,” said McElhenney. “That is the power of a great bar – when your favourite people are there, your favourite bartender is working, and a great song is playing. Nothing can beat that good time, and that’s what Four Walls is all about.”
