There will be four different beers available including: A Roast Dinner Brown Ale, a Jam Roly Poly & Custard Pale Ale, a Sticky Toffee Pudding & Custard Porter and an Apple Crumble & Custard Pale Ale.

Frozen food company Nomad Foods which owns the Aunt Bessie’s brand told consumers via the Aunt Bessie’s social media account: “Keep your eyes peeled for the new weird and wonderful flavours from Northern Monk x Aunt Bessie’s in your local Morrisons”.

Northern Monk revealed on its social feed: “There’s nowt better than a traditional Sunday roast and a cracking’ pud. But how about cans of them? We’ve got a full Sunday spread for you with Aunt Bessie’s and since you’ve been good, after your main course you’ve got three delicious puddings to choose from.”

Northern Monk explained: “Starting off with Roast Dinner Brown Ale, a rich, hearty and satisfying beer, maybe one to dunk your Yorkie in? After that, well, the choice of which one to try first is up to you.”

The Roast Dinner Brown Ale has been brewed with actual Aunt Bessie’s Roast Potatoes and Yorkshire Puddings in the brew while the Jam Roly Poly & Custard Pale Ale is reportedly brewed with plum, apricot and strawberry the same products that go into the original Aunt Bessie’s pudding recipe.

The four pack will be available from the Northern Monk webshop from Wednesday as well as via Morrisons stores.

Back in 2020, Northern Monk teamed up with Aunt Bessie’s to produce two brews billed as “the UK’s first two-course meal in beer form” and produced just two of the beers in this week’s launch – namely the Sunday Roast and Jam Roly Poly. Earlier in the same year, British baking firm Warburtons teamed up with experienced bread brewers Toast Ale to make a beer with leftover, crusty crumpets.
