LS Cream Liqueur receives Fearless Fund investment

Venture capital firm Fearless Fund, which seeks to support businesses led by women of colour, has announced an investment in drinks brand LS Cream Liqueur.

LS Cream Liqueur founders Myriam Jean-Baptiste and Stevens Charles are of Haitian descent, and draw inspiration from the Caribbean country’s cream liqueurs, known as ‘cremas’, ahead of launching the company. The company is valued at US$10 million.

The drink is a mixture of neutral grain spirit, cream, coconut, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Jean-Baptiste said of the investment: “The wine and spirits industries are overwhelmingly male-dominated, and women of color’s stories and legacies are significantly underrepresented. Fearless Fund’s investment in LS Cream will allow us to scale our business and increase our distribution footprint in the US while expanding our presence in our current markets.”

Fearless Fund co-founder Arian Simone added: “We are always looking for trailblazing women of colour who are pushing the boundaries in their respective fields, and LS Cream is a perfect example of that.”

“After many taste tests from our team and personal contacts, everyone agrees that LS Cream is a delicious and transformative product that is sure to become a staple in the wine and spirits industry,” Simone continued.

Fearless Fund has supported a number of companies since it was launched in 2019, including health food brand Air Protein, beauty businesses such as Live Tinted and Range Beauty. As far as can be ascertained, LS Cream Liqueur is the first drinks brand the company has funded.
