Duty Free Global reveals new plans for travel-retail bottlings

Duty Free Global previewed a range of spirits and wines in Cannes this week, including a rare whisky, new flat-bottles and a winery tie-up.

The company represents brands in GTR such as The Last Drop blended Scotch whisky, Wakefield Taylors Family Wines, Silent Pool Gins, along with many others including Sazerac brands such as Fireball Cinnamon Whisky and Buffalo Trace showcased its wares at the TFWA World exhibition & Conference.

Speaking to the drinks business, Kerri Judge, vice president of marketing at Duty Free Global said: “New things include the 48 year old The Last Drop. Plus, in the gift set each comes with its own miniature.”

Judge added, that for Wakefield the wine company was also experimenting with lighter, flatter packaged wine bottles and explained: “The flatpacks are not yet in travel retail,but they are in domestic in Australia and are going to come into travel retai soon hopefully.”

In terms of other wine relationships, Judge revealed: “We have been talking to Albert Bichot as we met them last year and have done a few tastings with them so we feel there is a good relationship there now.”
