Jose Cuervo giving away world’s first piñata bar

In an ode to a truly unexpected year, top-selling Tequila brand Jose Cuervo is offering one agave spirits fan the chance to win its newest invention – a piñata bar stuffed with Tequila.

The brand has set up a social media competition via Instagram, where one winner will be delivered a bar-shaped piñata stocked with Jose Cuervo Especial Gold, bartender’s essentials, mixers and garnishes for at-home cocktails. ‘Enjoy then destroy’ is the tagline of the campaign.

With national lockdowns forcing people out of pubs and bars and back into their own homes, many of us have taken on the challenge of becoming amatuer mixologists, and Jose Cuervo has created the piñata bar as a fun way to serve drinks to family and friends over the holidays, before taking out some of those holiday stresses on the bar itself.

Providing a set of instructions for “safe” destruction, the festively-coloured bar can be demolished to reveal a variety of Jose Cuervo Tequilas and a host of flavoured fillings.

The competition went live on 4 December. All entrants must be over the age of 18 and based in the UK, and need to follow Jose Cuervo on Instagram (@josecuervouk), tagging a friend they plan to enjoy a festive cocktail with to be in with a chance of winning.

The brand recommends trying your hand at using the Tequila to make a classic Margarita by mixing 50ml Jose Cuervo Especial, 20ml lime juice, 20ml orange liqueur and a pinch of salt around the rim.
