Breaking Bad stars launch mezcal

The star duo of hit television series Breaking Bad have launched a mezcal called Dos Hombres.

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul starred in the American television series Breaking Bad

Joining a host of celebrities associated with tequila brands, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are the latest to move into the drinks industry with agave spirits.

Announcing the launch in a joint statement on their Instagram pages, Cranston and Paul said: “We had the time of our lives while shooting Breaking Bad and truly built a very special bond. Knowing that we couldn’t share the screen for quite a while – our thoughts turned to a new project. We sipped cocktails and thought about what it should be.

“The younger one looked at his drink and said, you know what we should do? We should do a really special Mezcal. The older one said, you mean the liquor with a worm at the bottom? Nah, that was just some bullshit gimmick, I mean real, artesanal Mezcal made by hand in Mexico.”

Described as “a unique blend of the finest Espadin agave, hand-selected from the hillsides of a small village in Oaxaca,” the mezcal has been launched in California and New York with plans to expand across the US over the next few months before exploring the potential of exporting outside of the country.

Priced at US$58 per 750ml bottle, Dos Hombres Espadin Mezcal is currently available on the Dos Hombres website.
