Anivin de France selects ambassadors

Over 100 Vin de France wines have been chosen as this year’s ‘ambassadors’ for the category by an international panel.

Anivin de France, the organisation responsible for promoting Vin de France, has announced that 138 wines have been chosen to represent the category for 2017.

The wines were selected at the ‘Best Value Vin de France Selection Tasting’ earlier this month by an international group of judges including Australians for the first time.

In total, 460 wines were entered into the tasting (a 17% increase on last year), and of the 138 eventually chosen 33 were awarded gold medals and 105 silver medals.

Valérie Pajotin, director of Anivin de France, summarised: “The continuing increase in entries for this annual tasting is pleasing, as it proves that Vin De France is now an established denomination which appeals to both French wine-makers and the consumers in our export markets.

“It was also great to welcome Australia into the folds of the panel this year. I‘m looking forward to showing the medal-winning wines on our stand at Prowein next month; in June at Vinexpo Bordeaux; and then across the marketing activities in a host of countries over the course of 2017.”

All of the medal-winning wines will be available to taste at ProWein this March and Vinexpo Bordeaux this June.
