Budweiser to drop beer by helicopter to football fans

During this weekend’s FA Cup matches, Budweiser will be dropping beer by helicopter to fans of underdog teams.

Thousands of bottles are ready to be dropped to the lower-league teams that defeat their higher ranking opponents this weekend.

Acting as the official beer to the The Emirates FA Cup, Budweiser is teaming up with former winner David James for the third-round weekend.

He said: “The third round is an incredibly exciting and unpredictable stage in the Emirates FA Cup no matter how big your team is or what league you’re in.

“It’s a privilege to be able to work with Budweiser to reward the commitment and passion of all underdog teams this weekend, and celebrate the unwavering support of football fans across the UK.”

Budweiser UK marketing manager Steph Okell said: “At Budweiser, we’re proud to be the Official Beer of the Emirates FA Cup, and celebrate great moments of ambition, unwavering belief and commitment. We think celebrating the underdog victories in the third round is worth raising a Bud to.”

In the event that no underdog team wins, the bounty will go to the team judged to have played best, and with the loyalest fans. Either way, even if the games are disappointing there’s going to be some very happy football fans this weekend.
