‘Most luxurious’ hotel to open in Macau

The 13 Hotel, rumoured to be opening this summer is reportedly the most luxurious hotel ever built, costing an estimated US$1.4 billion.

With a 24-hour butler service, a marble Roman bath to seat up to eight guests and the largest fleet of Rolls-Royce Phantoms to chauffeur guests to and from the airport, the 13 Hotel owned by Louis XIII holdings has been crowned as “the most luxurious hotel” ever built.

It is the latest venture by Louis XIII’s co-chairman, Stephen Hung and the 13 hotel reportedly cost over US$1.4 billion to build with US$7 million spent on each room.

The 13 is home to 200 multi-level suites with the “entry level” Villa du Comte still commanding 2,000 square feet all the way to the sumptuous Villa de Stephen which is 30,000 square foot.

All villas have their own 24-hour butler and a fleet of Rolls Royce Phantoms to chauffeur around guests as well as a six bars and restaurants, with the Chairman’s Bar serving rare Asian whiskies and L’Ambroisie touted to be the first three-Michelin starred restaurant outside of its sister eatery in Paris.

Louis XIII holdings has also announced its potential rebranding to the 13 Holdings Ltd, following the opening of the hotel and approval from shareholders.

“13 is my lucky number and the new name along with the new logo fit perfectly with my vision,” said Hung. “There is a hint of tradition while also suggesting a chic and fun edginess.”
