Nutella Negroni and other Easter cocktails

London restaurant Duck & Waffle is to launch a Nutella Negroni and other Easter-themed cocktails for one week only on Monday.

Aimed at adult chocolate lovers keen to get their cocoa fix in liquid format, the cocktail twists on the Italian classic, featuring gin, Campari and vermouth, with the addition of a Nutella infusion.

Also in the Easter-themed line-up is the Milkybar Snowball, made with Milkybar-infused Advocaat, distilled lemon, sugar and Prosecco.

Completing the collection is the Truffled Chocolate Rob Roy, which blends Dewars 12 year old whisky, vermouth, Green & Black’s 70% cocoa infusion and black truffle.

All three cocktails are pried at £14 and will be available at the restaurant, housed in the Heron Tower, for one week only from Monday 30 March.

The trio are the brainchild of liquid alchemist Rich Woods, head bartender at Duck & Waffle and sister restaurant Sushisamba, who has long pioneered the concept of cocktails the combine sweet and savoury flavours.

Keen to blur the lines between the worlds of food and drink, Woods weaves everything from oysters, bone marrow, blue cheese and Marmite into his drinks.

His Chocolate & Blue Cheese Martini blends gin with dry cacao, olive oil and a blue cheese distillate. Last week Woods hit the headlines with the release of London’s first Kobe beef cocktail.

Priced at £28, the Kobe Cocktail twists on Bourbon-based classic cocktail the Old Fashioned by adding a wash of the highest grade Kobe beef fat before being stirred with maple syrup and caramel and served with a block of ice.
