Mentzendorff issues stolen Chapoutier wines warning
Mentzendorff has issued a warning to the trade following the theft of a number of M.Chapoutier wines which were in transit to Cert Octavian.
A large selection of wines were stolen and Mentzendorff has requested anyone who might be offered M.Chapoutier wines from suspicious sources contact them directly.
A Mentzendorff statement said: "Mentzendorff would like to advise the trade to be on the alert for any suspicious offers of M.Chapoutier wines from unusual sources following the theft last week of a quantity of mixed stock en route to Cert Octavian.
“The wines stolen include various Chapoutier Rhône Wines (red & white), Domaine de Bila Haut – Roussillon wines (red & white), wines from Michel Chapoutier’s new ventures in Alsace (Schieferkopf) and Australia (Domaine Tournon) plus a quantity of single vineyard Selection Parcellaire Rhône wines from the 2008 vintage, which are packed in wooden cases.
“Please advise Andy Smith, finance director, on +44 (0)20 7840 3600 if you are approached or if you have any information on the theft of these wines, which is currently under investigation by the police."
