WaverleyTBS expands wine range

Independent UK drinks supplier WaverleyTBS has unveiled a revamped portfolio including 160 new wines, and announced it will freeze prices on a third of its wine range.

The overhaul centres on the company’s French wine offering, with almost the entire range from Chablis, Burgundy and the Rhône being replaced with better wines at the same cost.

Due to a current favourable euro exchange rate, 240 wines from across Europe are being held at last year’s prices, according to wine director Neil Bruce.

A number of New World wines will go up in price however, as exchange rates and global demand have driven up prices.

“In the four years I have been at WaverleyTBS, I’ve not seen changes made on this scale,” Bruce said.

“We tasted hundreds of wines in an extremely thorough process to try to ensure that we get the best quality and value in our range.”

Wines from Spain, New Zealand, Chile and Argentina also underwent a significant review by the company.

Meanwhile the Chilean range, which has seen marked growth for the firm over the past few years, has been “beefed up” to encompass more reserve and premium level wines to meet consumer demand.
