From its base in Leicestershire, Cert Group has built a solid reputation as a specialist in the drinks distribution business. During the last 12 months the company has invested heavily in infrastructure that has dramatically improved the service it provides its many partners in the trade. “This is an outstanding entry in a year when Cert has invested so much in improving their infrastructure in order to provide the best possible service and quality of facilities for their customers,” said one judge. “Their customers obviously value the company’s investment and reward it with their loyalty.”

In the logistics business scale is key, and Cert has developed a network that enables it to offer an excellent service at a reasonable cost. The group distributes over 32 million cases each year, delivering more than 800 orders on the average day from over 500,000 square foot of modern bonded warehousing. As well as investing in new warehouse facilities, during the last year the company has updated its IT network to improve the efficiency of the service and to offer a 24-hour web-based information service to all customers. As the judges concluded, “a worthy winner”.

Porter & Laker
Now in its 130th year, Porter & Laker places a strong focus on providing exceptional customer service and ensuring high levels of stock availability for its various partners – Bibendum, for example, has been enabled to keep stock levels at 97-98% on a substantial range of over a thousand items. “Porter & Laker have an obvious commitment to high quality service and are continually striving to improve on all aspects of their business,” said the judges.

EHD London
Established in 2000, EHD has recently moved to new purpose built facilities in Byflet, Surrey. With over 55,000 square feet of bonded space the new site effectively doubles capacity. Commendably, the company is actively involved in aiding the local community.

Maersk Logistics
With a network spanning 90 countries and over 5,000 personnel, Maersk is able to offer a truly global platform, while still ensuring a high level of local expertise and involvement. The unique Spective system enables customers to follow their orders remotely.

Seawing Languard International
Seawing Languard International presented a compelling case for its logistics business. In the last year it has been working closely with Diageo Global Supply in an effort to increase the efficiecy of the business – the solutions they provided saved the valued customer both time and money.
