Ale Warning

Excessive drinking can cause harm.  Observe daily guidelines for sensible drinking. Do not drink and drive."

LIVERPOOL-BASED brewery, Cains, has become the first UK brewery to put health warnings on its bottled beers.  The brewery has responded to the Government’s National Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy report, which recommends printing alcohol advice on packaging.

The first of the new bottles will be rolling off the production line at the beginning of this month. "It seems like many of our competitors are just sitting on the sidelines and getting caught up  debating rather than taking action," said Sudarghara Dusanj owner of the company (pictured, far right, with his brother Ajmail).

"We are leading by example and doing our bit by packaging and marketing our products in a responsible manner."  The advice on the bottles reads: "Alcohol advice: Robert Cain supports responsible drinking.

Excessive drinking can cause harm.  Observe daily guidelines for sensible drinking. Do not drink and drive."
