After showing visitors around the cellars of Moët & Chandon in Epernay and then working in the vineyards of the Nahe, Rupert joined the drinks business in January 2010.

In 2014 he spent a year in Hong Kong and the first half of 2016 in Lyon as the magazine’s ‘roving reporter’ in his capacity as both managing editor of the drinks business Hong Kong and editor of its fine wine desk.

Fluent in French and with passable German, Rupert’s chief wine interests lie in France, Italy, Australia and Germany and he covers the movements of the fine wine market and wine history for the magazine and website.

Outside of work he enjoys reading, films, the Wiltshire countryside, cooking, pubs, dreaming of a life in Burgundy and writing short stories – when he has the time.
