Heirloom Vineyards raison d’être is individual older vineyards, carefully- and sustainably-tended. This wine comes from their best McLaren Vale vineyard. Mid-ruby in colour, the aromatics show bright cherries and violets with toasty oak and milk chocolate overtones. The palate is full-bodied and warming with fresh acidity and supple tannins framing the flavours. Spicy and warming with a long finish. Lovely fruit and integrated oak flavour give an exciting wine to pair with Moroccan flank-steak tagine. [Patricia Stefanowicz MW]
