Located in Rincón de Soto in Rioja Oriental, Bodegas Corcel produced this wine from 100% Tempranillo. Quite deep cherry-coloured with a garnet rim indicating development, the wine exudes cranberry and dried cherry fruit with a smoky oak overtone. Very dry, the palate has concentrated red fruits, tangy acidity, well-integrated, dense, svelte tannins and an aromatic floral note. Layered, delicious and lingering, the wine would be a good match for roasted pork loin cooked with fennel, bay leaves, nutmeg and cider vinegar. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
