Tasting notes:
Grown on calcareous-loess soils and east-facing slopes in the Wagram district, these Pinot Noir vines are approximately 35 years old. Medium yellow-gold in hue with a narrow cordon, the wine shows mirabelle plum and ripe pear fruit, overlaid by buttered pastry and gentle smoky notes. Brut-style, the midweight palate is underpinned by racy acidity and satin mousse texture. Really concentrated and lingering, this is a fine wine well-suited to an unusual first course salad of buffalo mozzarella with capers, black olives, red onion and fresh coriander, and a drizzle of balsamic-olive oil vinaigrette.
