Tasting notes:
Since 1842, Schlumberger wines have been produced from locally-grown grapes, gently handled and nurtured in the cellars of Vienna. This traditional method sparkling wine is pale gold in colour, with small bubbles and a naRrow cordon. Ripe orchard fruits are accented by intense toast and pastry from long lees ageing. Brut-style, the mid-weight palate is linear and well-defined, with brisk acidity and velvet-textured mousse supporting the flavours. A touch of kitchen spices on the finish add complexity. Perfect to accompany pumpkin soup with Parmesan, gruyère, cream and rosemary. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
