Tasting notes:

Malmsey (Malvasia) grapes are mostly grown on the southern section ofMadeira around Câmara de Lobos, where high levels of evaporation help toprevent fungal diseases. This superb expression has quite a deep tawny-browncolour with vieux-rose highlights. Incredibly aromatic, showing baked pastry,apple pie, cinnamon, raisins, nuts and toffee. Sweet but by no means cloying,the firm but fine palate has great, bracing acidity to balance the sweetness.Caramel and roast coffee notes add complexity. A gorgeous wine that will befantastic with chocolate delice layered with marinated prunes and vanillacustard cream. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
