Main Purposes of the Job

Over the past four years, Maverick Drinks has built up an extensive network of cocktail bars, drinks wholesalers, independent retailers, online retailers, and national grocers. All of them have different marketing needs and we need someone who can promote our range of craft spirits and tailor that message to these different audiences to drive sales. We know our spirits are the best and we need everyone else to know too!

In addition to making sure our products are represented the best that they can be across multiple points of sale, you’ll also be running your own campaigns in accordance with budgets from multiple different brands, which you’ll manage. These campaigns could be online, in-store, through events, or otherwise.

For the right person, this is a role with a huge amount of creative freedom and scope to help us drive change in the industry and grow our portfolio of craft spirits.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

This role would suit a creative individual who is detail orientated and has the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects. Great communications skills are paramount.

  • Develop a marketing and promotional strategy for each channel (wholesale, grocery, online, on-trade) with a focus on our key spirits from each brand.
  • Manage the marketing budgets for all of our brands and deploy them as a means of meeting our commercial targets with our partners.
  • Create and manage a suite of sales tools that can be used by our partners to educate and motivate their teams.
  • Ensure that our products are well-represented in online listings and in-store POS.
  • Create online campaigns that drive product reviews and awareness, bringing our products to the top of search rankings and in front of more consumers.
  • Evaluating the return on investment from these marketing activities and assessing their commercial viability for future plans.
  • Supporting our retail partners with any events and/or activations they run.
  • Report on data and industry trends relating to trade categories.
  • Analyse competitor pricing, formats, and promotional activity and incorporate these into our own plans.

Essential Experience

  • Experience working as a Trade Marketing Manager, ideally in a similar category.
  • Strong commercial understanding and ability to drive sales through marketing.
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desired Experience

  • Specific campaign examples from previous employment.
  • Category development experience with premium/craft spirits.
  • Marketing qualification (CIM or similar).
