We have an exciting new opportunity in our Technical team and are looking for a passionate, experienced and dynamic Technical Manager to join us. The role reports into the Head of Technical & New Business Development and works with our customers, suppliers, buyers and sales teams to deliver great quality products that are consistently produced to the correct quality and meet Enotria&Coe standards and policies.

The four main areas of responsibility are:     

  • Be the wine technical expert with a detailed understanding of winemaking, supply chain and technical requirements to deliver best in class technical management and quality standards
  • Oversee the technical aspects of our UK contract pack operation
  • Implement and manage a Quality Management System for our own site, where we store wine, spirits, beers, ciders and soft drinks
  • Proactively engage with suppliers and buying team to help define sourcing strategy and drive profitability, quality improvement and the technical agenda


The Technical Manager will work with the Head of Technical & New Business Development to drive quality across the whole portfolio through the implementation of rigorous quality standards. In addition, the role ensures food safety and brand integrity through due diligence and risk management. In doing so, the role provides confidence to suppliers and customers alike that products supplied are of the highest quality and ethically sourced.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • A degree or equivalent in food, wine or a relevant science subject

  • Lead auditor qualification
  • HACCP qualification
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a technical role within the supply base or retail
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a technical or winemaking role
  • Auditing experience and understanding of retailer technical requirements
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to work collaboratively with E&C and Supplier teams
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Initiative and pro-active approach
  • Effective influencing skills
  • Ability to travel within the UK and overseas, often at short notice

Fluency in Italian, Spanish or French is also desirable, but not essential.
