About Us
Atom Brands is the product development and manufacturing business unit within Atom Group which also includes Maverick Drinks (UK distribution) and Master of Malt (global online retail). Atom Group was the only spirits company to feature in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 in 2017.

Atom Brands has won several significant awards in its own right including IWSC Gin producer of the year 2017, and Overall Gin Master, and Grand Spirits Master at the Spirits Masters 2017.

In the last 5 years, our brands have won dozens of global awards (World’s Best – Blended Whisky, Blended Malt, Grain Whisky, Liqueur, Gin, Spiced Rum & Pre-mixed Cocktail – many on multiple occasions) regularly triumphing in blind tastings against some of the world’s largest and longest-established products from businesses three orders of magnitude largerthan ours. This speaks to our no-compromise approach to creation and crafting. We make  the best – we don’t work backwards from price-points or seek to ‘fill gaps’.

We are growing at an astronomical rate. Hundreds of percent year-on-year, and that growth is still accelerating.

We are in the process of a global rollout – distributing through our wholly-owned distributor Maverick Drinks in the UK, and globally through a network of distribution partners.

About the role
You will be fully accountable for all aspects of marketing strategy, implementation, and measurement for our full stable of brands – developing  quantifiable market-specific plans in conjunction with our distribution partners around the world.

Main purpose of the role:

  • Brand Marketing​ – without doubt the most important aspect of the role. We have made strides in Brand Management in the past year, but there’s still a huge amount left to do. You will be accountable for the full gamut of brand management, delivering through an extant team that know their onions.
  • Innovation ​- Our brands aren’t going to continue their current trajectory without significant effort, so developing a clear innovation strategy in conjunction with the NPD team based on sound insights will be fundamental to opening up new category and consumer occasions.
  • Digital Marketing​ – Development and coordination of a centralised global strategy, as well as individual strategies for each key market, run in collaboration with the in-country distributor to drive value through the most appropriate channel in each market.
  • Advertising ​- Both consumer and trade channel marketing are going to start ramping up massively in the coming years, and developing innovative campaigns which are quantifiably exceptional is key to the success of our brands.
  • Social Media ​- Developing both global and market-specific strategies, and overseeing their implementation in conjunction with the digital and brand marketing strategies is a huge driver of consumer sampling and brand awareness in equal measure.
  • PR​ – one of the two pillars on which our brands are built is that they must be inherently self-marketing. Without exception, our brands are a journalist’s dream – your job is to make sure that they’ve heard of them and had the opportunity to feature them.
  • Analytics ​- All of the above is for naught if we’re not feeding the right fires. We have a highly-competent central analytics team on whom you can call for advice, analysis, and tool development but you will need to be comfortable operating at a high level with respect to stats and analysis.
  • Profitability​ – Full accountability for P&L and cash flow control for all marketing activity.

About you
You have a proven track record of excellence with accountability for the full gamut of marketing for one or more global spirit brands.

We’re looking for a leader that understands their strengths and weaknesses and mitigates them by building and using a world class team.

You have a deep understanding in certain areas of marketing, and you know enough elsewhere that you can identify talent and challenge BS. In the same way as you make your arguments with sound rational analysis, you won’t be fobbed off or sold to by anybody. You challenge bad ideas with good data, and you’re not afraid to call people out.

One of your areas of deep knowledge is brand marketing. You have significant experience in this area because you’ve lived it. You’ve been in the trenches, building brands and have seen the common mistakes brands make as they grow rapidly. You think ahead and keep yourself out of tight spots, but you yell for help if you find yourself in one. You’ll be expected to bring solutions to the Board, but you’ll also own failure and seek assistance in mitigating it.

You are action-oriented. You’re more interested in a constructive dialogue than presentation, although you do the latter concisely and effectively. You win the licence to operate iteratively; proving value at increasing scale to unlock yet more. You are a heavy hitter with a Director role in mind…
You can demonstrate a track-record of full P&L accountability for a significant business division. You are highly intelligent, personable, eloquent, and able to inspire others to achieve your aims and objectives with enviable ease.
