Reporting to the Brand Marketing Manager we are delighted to offer an amazing opportunity to be part of the busy Events team at Atom Supplies – owner of award-winning retail and drinks brands including Master of Malt, Ableforth’s (Bathtub Gin), Drinks by the Dram, That Boutique-y Gin Company, That Boutique-y Whisky Company and our dynamic distribution arm, Maverick Drinks. Based in Tunbridge Wells, this is a hugely exciting chance to be part of a growing business which defies convention.

Our events span both consumer and trade audiences and range from small, personalised tastings to large scale consumer festivals sampling our delicious products to thousands of potential customers. Over the past year we’ve upped our game significantly, pulling off some of the most well-received and engaging stands at events like London Cocktail Week, Imbibe Live and Taste London – all with the aim of driving our brand-awareness sky high.

We need an experienced events professional to help us reach the next level so we can expose even more people to our amazing products.

 

The Role

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • support the budgeting and planning for the annual events calendars;
  • create plans and project-manage specific events in the calendar;
  • hands-on execution of events;
  • lead on creative ideas to bring our brands to life through unforgettable live experiences;
  • measure, analyse and report on the success of events;
  • work with key stakeholders to amplify the impact and brand-awareness of the events through social media and PR;
  • negotiate the best deals with all stakeholders;
  • support the development of a business case and draw on previous experience to help decide which events we should commit to in the coming period;
  • project manage the assets, staffing and execution for specific events event.

You

You are passionate about great events and not afraid of a bit of graft, and that’s a very good thing because this isn’t a standard 9-5 job. You’ll need to flex your week around standard office days and manic weekends and evenings setting up, running, and breaking down stands at events – but that’s no problem as you thrive on live events and seeing your hard work come together. You love to work independently and own your own projects and of course, you love craft spirits.

It’s not always like that though, and when you’re not rushing around making sure that events are running seamlessly, you’re planning the next event or analysing the performance of the previous one back in the office – so you’ll need to be as good with a pivot table as you are with a clipboard in a field.

You are creative and have a great eye for detail, so you can totally design an event or stand from concept stage and bring it to life with expert coordination and vision whilst remaining on brand. You have excellent organisational and project management skills and you have the confidence to lead a team on-site. You know what needs to happen to deliver success, you plan for all eventualities and know how to achieve success to a deadline. You have a plan B in mind for everything and you are well versed in contingency planning.

You naturally develop strong relationships. This is good, because you’ll need them. You’ll definitely need to ask for favours every now and then, and you’ll have the relationship equity in place to buy you that favour – not because the other party has to help, but because they want to.

You’ll have a degree or other comparable higher qualification in marketing, event management, business management, or related subjects. You’ll have at least 3 years experience managing your own events and be looking to join a company where you have the ability to steer the events strategy to new heights.
