Corney & Barrow Ltd is a long established (1780) well known and inspirational independent wine merchant. We’re looking for a self-motivated individual with skills and experience in web content creation, development and management and highly developed communication skills.

The Digital Marketing Executive (DME) will be responsible for raising the profile of our brand through all aspects of Corney & Barrow’s online presence across social media, the web and other digital channels. He/she will work closely with colleagues in the Marketing team to ensure that content works across platforms to support campaigns and our overall marketing strategy. The DEM will also be responsible for creating site promotions and implementing online outreach programmes, so graphic design and or video/photography skills would be advantageous.

Apart from being an imaginative and creative communicator with a love of wine and a ‘can do’ attitude towards your own, your team’s and the company’s objectives, you will need to bring to the role:-

  • Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics, Mailchimp and Hootsuite (or similar)
  • Proven experience of HTML and Adobe Photoshop
  • Ideally a degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing or a related field
  • Diploma in Digital Marketing or equivalent
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience managing digital content across social platforms
  • Working knowledge of search engine algorithms and best practice
  • Good understanding of French and/or French wine terminology


The headline responsibilities are:-

  • Creation and planning of online content/editorial calendar
  • Creation, development and management of social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Youtube
  • Identifying and engaging with relevant and high-profile social influencers
  • Creation, development and management (including proofreading/editing) content to support social media through the company’s web presence (blog, monthly newsletter etc.)
  • Monitoring and implementing the SEO strategy to keep content relevant
  • Ensuring sites are listed in relevant directories and indexes to optimise SEO
  • Evaluating web analytics with recommendations for improvements
  • Evaluating social channel performances in terms of organic growth and traffic
  • Evaluating e-commerce activity using Google Analytics (weekly and monthly KPIs)
  • Creating and managing paid social campaigns (e.g. Facebook ads)
  • Keeping up-to- date with emerging web technologies
