Business Development Manager’s x 4 – North/South of England/London

Location:     Field-based. 2 x London, 1 North England, 1 South England

The Roles:

This is an outstanding opportunity to join an award-winning brewer undergoing rapid expansion both nationally and internationally. As a Business Development Manager, you will support our network of key distributors to deliver growth as well as prospecting for new business.

You will be responsible for profitably growing the distribution and volume in the territory as well as increasing the profile of Harviestoun in all channels of the marketplace. The role encompasses both account management and prospecting new business opportunities. It requires a high level of motivation, commercial acumen and good communication skills as you will be responsible for negotiating across a diverse account base as well as managing a multi-layered Route-to-Market network.

There are two roles in Central London. One role covering main cities in the South of England and one role covering main cities in the North of England.

Who we’re looking for:

Graduate level candidates with a proven track record in the drinks sector. Ideally, you will have experience in selling Craft beer, however, excellent candidates with FMCG/account management experience may also be considered. 


In-depth knowledge of the On-Trade market. 


Well organized, efficient planner. 


Strong interpersonal skills. 


Commercial acumen. 


Passion for beer. 


Highly motivated. 


Strong sales experience. 


 

Desirable: 


WSET/Beer academy qualifications would be advantageous. 


Formal Sales training. 


 

Responsibilities:

Business Development Manager responsibilities include:


1) Effectively managing all existing customers within the territory. 


2) Effectively managing all relationships with our key distributors in the territory, working to drive business “in the field” with distributor sales teams. 


3) Driving new business in the territory and maintaining a dynamic prospect list across all channels. 


4) Becoming “the face” of Harviestoun brewery in the territory and representing the company at all key Trade events, Craft beer festivals, customer tastings and industry events. 


5) Mutual support and learning with the rest of the UK sales team.


6) Educating customer staff on our products.
