We represent many exemplary second-generation wine makers and boast a
superb French range, an impressive Italian and Spanish selection and a stand out New World offering.

We specialise in the on-trade and independent off-trade, supplying a wide range of customers from owner-operated establishments, fine-dining and Michelin-starred restaurants to gastro pubs, catering companies and restaurant groups. In the off-trade we work with a network of independent retailers, wholesalers, regional and Fine Wine merchants located throughout the UK. We also have an experienced Private Client department who offer customers expert advice and guidance on all aspects of Fine Wine including En Primeur purchasing
and specialist long term storage.

We are looking to recruit an innovative Marketing Manager with a proven track record of running a thriving marketing department. This is a national role supporting all sales channels to achieve growth through key marketing initiatives.

The role requires an energetic and driven marketing professional with wine industry experience and the ability to develop and implement strategic objectives to achieve new business and boost key account sales.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Document and implement an annual marketing plan and manage this against budget, reporting monthly on progress
  • Create and implement brand plans for key agencies
  • Manage and develop supplier relationships, ensuring mutual objectives are met
  • Channel management and liaison with sales teams to identify and open new channels
  • Implement an effective events programme with relevant activity scheduled to attract new business as well as support customer retention and key agency growth.
  • Build on the profile of Bancroft Wines in the market through social media and PR
  • Assist in developing the image and vision of the Company and manage internal communication to engage and inspire
  • Manage the website to ensure content is accurate and current
  • Coordinate all email campaigns, offers and initiatives (including bin ends and overstocks)
  • Input to ad hoc projects (eg, introduction of a retail strategy with RRP’s)
  • Line management responsibility for the Marketing Coordinator


Required Skills:

  • Experience of working in the UK wine trade
  • Detailed wine knowledge (WSET Diploma level)
  • Excellent time management and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Effective relationship management (internal and external)
  • Demonstrable success in creating new business through marketing initiatives
  • Languages are an advantage

This is a fulltime role requiring flexibility to work around the commitments of the business. Bancroft Wines operates from a high quality office in London Bridge, SE1 and offers a competitive remuneration and benefits package.
