The Root of it All – Bancroft Wines Annual Tasting

Our annual Portfolio Tasting, called The Root of it All, will feature 37 Producer tables (including 11 new producers), from 11 different countries. A bigger and better free pour section, with a shortlist of spot on BTG choices and some Independents Essentials-

-Among the new producers we are proud to be featuring Franco Conterno (Piedmont), Edi Simčič (Slovenia), Schwarztrauber (Pfalz, Germany), Glaetzer (Barossa), Chateau de Berne (Provence), and Sedelscombe (Kent), and more…

-A Burgundy Table to highlight out exceptional Burgundy portfolio, featuring current vintage as well as a selection of 2017 En Primeur

-Free Pour table with a selection of ‘By the Glass Stars’ and ‘Independents’ Essentials’ for those short on time

-2 ‘Soil Sesseions’: informal conversations and tastings covering fascinating topics, featuring 3 winemakers with very diverse perspectives:

 

Soil Session 1 @ 11am is called ‘Living Soil: Style, Sustainability, and the Legacy for Future Generations’. We will be discussing how soils and soil management affect wine style, as well as the importance of biodiversity and planning for long-term sustainability. Featuring:

Soil Session 2 @ 3pm is all about ‘Making sense of sulphites’ and we will be examining issues related to terroir, style and quality, as well as discussing the market for low or non-sulphite wines. A key point will be a discussion of how the addition of sulphites affects vintage and vineyard expression, in addition to wine longevity. Featuring:
