Kirin unveils beer bottle sushi orchestra

Proving that beer bottles have more uses than just drinking, this novel ode to Japan is a masterclass in sushi-making and viral marketing.

Western_SushiKirin Ichiban has released a video entitled “Kirin Ichiban Beer Bottle Orchestra Sushi” in which the Bottle Boys perform a “Radetzky March” using only beer bottles, as a team of sushi chefs provide the rhythm as they cut wash and roll Japan’s national dish.

“Japanese cuisine has now become one of the most popular cuisines in the world, especially following its addition to the Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage list – and with healthy eating trends in recent years. What makes Kirin Ichiban the perfect accompaniment to Japanese food is the brewing method called “Ichiban Shibori”, said Masakazu Ashida, marketing manager of Kirin Brewery.

The composition, which includes instructions on how to make your own sushi, was filmed at the historical Happo-en – a traditional Japanese restaurant and wedding venue.

Watch as the Bottle Boys create stunning harmonies to the sounds of sushi chefs preparing Japan’s national dish.
