Now in its fourth year, The Fortified Masters will reward the best fortified wines on offer. The wines will be judged blind by a panel of high regarded judges known for their expertise in the fortified wine sector.

The judges will award the best wines with medals from Bronze through to Gold, with the opportunity to be rewarded a Master for exceptional wines.

The judging panel, chaired by the drinks business, will be composed exclusively of Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers and senior buyers.

The wines will be tasted blind and the panel will award medals to the best wines, with the opportunity to be awarded a Master for exceptional wines.

Rioja Masters 2018

Now in its seventh year, the competition will recognise and reward the finest Riojas on the world stage. A panel of leading industry experts will judge the wines submitted in a blind tasting to discover the best examples from this incredible region in six categories:

  • Joven
  • Crianza
  • Reserva
  • Gran Reserva
  • Vinos de autor
  • Rioja 15 years and older

The judging panel, chaired by the drinks business, will be composed exclusively of Master of Wine, Master Sommeliers and buyers. The panel will award the best wines with medals from Bronze through to Gold, with the opportunity to be rewarded a Master for exceptional wines. The results will be published in the Spanish Report and The Drinks Business Hong Kong edition.

The administration fee is £140 per wines entered.

The Global Riesling Masters 2018

Unlike other international competitions, The Global Masters series is judged by grape variety rather than country. Every wine will be measured on the taste of its grape and the skill of its winemaker.

All Global Masters are judged blind by the finest palates in the world – a panel of Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers and senior buyers only. The best competing wines will be awarded medals from Bronze through to Gold, and ultimately “Master” for exceptional examples.

The Global Beer Competition

9th July, 2018

This year the drinks business will be hosting The Global Beer Tour – a celebration of the world’s finest brews – at The Wine & Spirits Show, taking place at The Royal Horseguards Hotel in the heart of London from October 12th – 13th 2018.

Over the two-day event, more than 2,000 London-based consumers, as well as 400 trade buyers, will sample hundreds of wines, beers and spirits, with a trade session set to take place on Friday, 12 October, between 1pm– 5pm.

All those that enter The Global Beer Competition, set to be judged by the drinks business’ expert panel in August, will have their beer showcased at the show, with the aim of rewarding and highlighting the finest beer brands on the world stage.

The Global Masters Zone at The Wine & Spirits Show

The Drinks Business and The Spirits Business will come together this autumn to host The Wine & Spirits Show. Situated in The Royal Horseguards Hotel in the heart of London, the aim of the two-day event will be to celebrate excellence across the drinks industry in a relaxed and educational environment.

The show will launch on Friday the 12th of October to both trade and consumer visitors. the drinks business and the spirits business will also use this event to highlight its exclusive range of award-winning wines and spirits from the successful Global Masters series.

Along with The Global Masters Zone, The Wine & Spirits Show will also feature a host of exhibitors from around the world, our popular Beer Zone, The Fine Wine Zone and a series of Masterclasses lead by experts within the industry.

The Asian Pinot Noir Masters 2018

The results of The Asian Pinot Noir Masters will be published in the drinks business Hong Kong Magazine.

This competition will assess the best Champagne on the market, from small growers to grandes marques.

  • Winners will be announced on 9 November 2018.. Entry to the ceremony is free of charge for all entrants (subject to capacity).

 

4. Publication of results

  • Results will be published in the December/January issue of the Drinks Business HK magazineissue and will be announced on our website shortly after the ceremony.
