‘World’s best bar’ heads to London

Punch Room at The London Edition has announced that it will be hosting Barcelona bar Paradiso, which currently sits at number one on the World’s 50 Best Bars list, for two nights.

Paradiso made history when it became the first bar outside of London or New York to claim the top spot on the World’s 50 Best Bars list.

Now, for two nights only (16 and 17 September), Paradiso will be heading to the UK capital for a cocktail takeover at Fitzrovia’s Punch Room at The London Edition.

Five signature drinks from Paradiso’s new cocktail menu ‘Evolution’ will be served alongside Punch Room’s new menu ‘Lights’:

Evolution Negroni

Whisky, Campari, Cocco, Mancino Rosso, Amaro Lucano, & chai

Tesla

Gin, rum, chamomile, Mancino Bianco, lemon verbena, hierba, mate syrup, & Top Perrier

Copper

Whisky, artichoke, Mancino Secco, Amaro Lucano, rose water, & aloe vera

Flemming

Tequila Blanco, Mancino Secco, grapefruit, beer, Thai milk, & Top Perrier

The Cloud

Mezcal, hibiscus, Amaro Lucano, Fino Sherry, & green chillies

The ‘Evolution’ menu was devised by Giacomo Giannotti, the owner and founder of Paradiso, and the bar’s team. According to a press release, the menu “aims to represent the growth and progress of humanity as a collective”. This is why the cocktails draw inspiration from some of the most significant discoveries/inventions in human history, including the wheel (as pictured), electricity and writing.

Drinks on Punch Room’s own ‘Lights’ menu that will be served alongside those of Paradiso include the Anglesey Lighthouse Punch (23-year-old Zacapa, Rinquinquin, cardamon, white pepper, cloves, Italicus, & Darjeeling sparkling tea) and the non-alcoholic Calima Punch (Everleaf Forest, apple, lemon, ginger, & pear tea).
