“Worth mentioning is also Gratien & Meyer, which contributed to the growth of the Crémant category with a strong performance, as well as Segura Viudas, which continues to develop positively following the revamp of its portfolio,” said Brokemper.

The DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) grew its revenue by + 3.4% to € 318 million.

In Western Europe, which includes the UK, Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Spain and Italy, revenue climbed to 385 million euros, contributing the largest share of
the group’s revenue with an increase of + 4.3%.

Revenue in Eastern Europe increased by + 9.2% to € 210 million in 2022. Driven by the success of its Mionetto brand, Henkell Freixenet’s Polish business continues to “develop dynamically” and is coming closer to Polish sparkling wine market leadership.

However, it was in the Americas where the company hit its strongest numbers, achieving its highest revenue to date in 2022, with + 28.7% year-on-year growth to a net revenue of €216 million.

“In the Americas region, we see one of the best growth opportunities for our business today and in the future,” said Brokemper.

In terms of investments, capital expenditures reached a new record of € 39 million with an increase of + 50.2%.

“The focus was on site development in Italy, where a new visitor centre will soon be completed. Purchases of machinery and equipment to expand capacities in Germany, Spain and Eastern Europe also contributed to the significantly increased investment volume,” Brokemper added.
