We’ve all been there: blithely curling our lashes while an unopened bottle of beer looks up at you, coquettishly.

“If only”, we’ve all mused, “if only I owned a bottle opener. But, alas, I do not, and thus am destined to stare back regretfully at the impenetrable vessel for time immemorial”.

But before we sink beneath our despair in the cold, stark realisation that we’ll never know what bottled supermarket beer tastes like, we might pause and take a breath. For there is hope on the horizon.

That’s because TikTok user @audreyorkild demonstrated a method by which you can use metal eyelash curlers in place of a traditional bottle opener.

Despite it taking a couple of attempts, and a few overspilling bubbles, the eyelash curlers eventually work wonders and the video went well and truly viral.

TikTok commenters were taken aback by the hack.

“Girls can do anything,” one commenter wrote, while another added, “WOMEN IN STEM”.

However, others expressed their concern over the fate of the eyelash curlers post-opening.

“Well there goes the eyelashes curl,” one commenter wrote.

A second added, “This is how I broke my favorite eyelash curler”.

So there you have it. You might now have an open beer, but equally you may have ruined your eyelash curlers forever.
