Rodolphe Lameyse, Vinexposium CEO, announced the company’s new “alliance” with Bettane+Desseauve at a press briefing at Wine Paris Vinexpo Paris today.

The partnership will see international editions of Vinexpo join forces with Bettane+Desseauve’s Le Grand Tasting events, opening the international fair up to the general public.

Vinexposium’s upcoming Singapore show in May 2023 will be the first event opened up to the new partnership, followed by an event in Seoul, South Korea in October, Tokyo in November and New York in March 2024.

“This new synergy will broaden the scope of our events and help our clients succeed in international markets thanks to a tailor-made offer,” Lameyse said. “It is essential for the wine and spirits industry to maintain strong relationships with consumers in order to adapt to the challenges of declining consumption and remain competitive in a constantly changing market.”

Lameyse said that despite the growth of the company’s international exhibitions over the last four years, there is still “one essential part missing” from Vinexposium’s offering – “contact with the end client”.

Le Grand Tasting will take place the day before Vinexpo to allow producers to develop business in key markets worldwide.

Thierry Desseauve, president of Bettane+Desseauve, said that the events in their new form will allow consumers to come and appreciate the wines and “meet the people who make them”.

Lameyse added that the two partnering companies will continue to “follow each other around the world”.

He said: “We are delighted to be able to join the two sides of the sector.”

Vinexposium is considering launching a standalone trade show for spirits, it was revealed at a press briefing in London in November 2022.
