Perrier launches cocktail-making challenge in Hong Kong

Sparkling mineral water brand Perrier has announced Hong Kong’s first ‘Perfect Cocktail by Perrier Challenge’, open to both amateur mixologists and industry professionals.

Perrier is all set to launch its first Perfect Cocktail by Perrier challenge in Hong Kong, open to both the public and professional bartenders, to create original drinks inspired by flavours of the world under the theme “Perrier Around The World”.

Originating from Vergèze, South of France, in 1863, Perrier is hailed as the world leader in sparkling mineral water with around two billion bottles sold in more than 140 countries. It claims to offer the strongest natural carbonation of any sparkling water on the market; the product has low mineralisation that provides a subtle flavour foundation for any mixed drinks including cocktails and mocktails.

The challenge is open for amateurs and professional bartenders to enrol. In the public category, contestants are required to create a cocktail with Perrier using one ingredient and one garnish. Submitted via posting on Instagram, three of the most outstanding, creative posts will be chosen based on appearance to participate in the final and be recreated for the judges.

For professional bartenders, participants must create a cocktail with Perrier, two ingredients, and one garnish. The top six first-round entries will be chosen by the judges according to appearance, balance of flavour, and storytelling to advance to the final round.

The semi-finalists will then recreate their first-round drink during the live finale, where the top three bartenders will move on to the final round.

Finalists are required to create one final drink with the theme “Revisit A Classic Using Perrier: pay tribute to the past, live in the present, be relevant for the future”, with ingredients sponsored by Hendrick’s and Lillet.

The challenge is open from now until 11 July 2022.
