Brewery offers free IPAs for a year if you get a tattoo

Do you love IPAs enough to get a pre-determined design permanently etched onto your skin? If you answered yes, then today is an exciting day for you.

Yes, Virginia-based Devils Backbone Brewing is offering the adventurous among us the chance to enjoy a year’s supply of beer on them, and all you have to do is permanently y alter your appearance.

If that sounds like a bargain worth striking, then here’s everything you need to know.

Jake Karamol, a tattoo artist and TikTok phenomenon, has teamed up with the AB InBev-owned brewery to create three tattoo designs around the Devils Backbone beer Buck Tradition IPA series.

The “Buck Tradition Tattoo Challenge,” will see the first 100 people to get one of the tattoos from now until 30 June receive a gift card for a year’s supply of Buck Tradition IPA.

“Most OG craft breweries were started by guys that just didn’t really fit into a ‘normal’ career path. IPAs have long been the liquid manifestation of their rebellious spirit because they taste so distinctly different from everything else in the history of beer.” Said Hayes Humpheys, Devils Backbone’s COO.

Here are the rules you’ll need to know about if you’re still thinking that this is a good idea:

Residents of Alabama, California, and Texas are not eligible to enter the contest. Secondly, would-be winners will need to “post to Instagram a photo of their tattoo, a photo of them receiving the tattoo, and the signature of the tattoo artist who gave it to them” in order to claim their prize. The gift card is worth US$480, and you’ll need to pay for your own tattoo.

Full rules and Ts & Cs can be found here.
