Singapore Cocktail Festival to twin music and cocktails

The Singapore Cocktail Festival (SGCF), which is due to run for one month from 12 November, is set to span across 36 bars.

The celebration, which is using a music as its creative theme this year, will include more than 60 events across the city, including a tie up with London Cocktail Week to boost interest.

Participating bars have already begun to create their SGCF signature cocktails and experiences inspired by their favourite songs, bands and icons to make the event as experiential and as consumer-centric as possible.

“With everything that the industry has gone through since last year, we wanted to reflect on how far the cocktail industry has come. By initiating a collaboration between the cocktail cohort in London, one of the oldest cocktail cities in the world; and Singapore, crowning cocktail capital of Asia, we wanted to show how we can remain resilient so long we stay together,” said festival cofounder Ivy Woo in a recent announcement.

“We invite you to join us in our support of our local bar community in their road to recovery. Every cocktail matters. We hope to see you at the bars to celebrate their resilience and creativity,” Woo added.

While live music in bars has been put on hold, the festival will incorporate themes of music into the cocktails created and do what it can to enliven people’s senses with flavour and showmanship.

The annual Asian event, which is a social and experiential gathering of drink makers and cocktail lovers from around the world, first debuted in 2017. Since then, over 35,000 visitors have attended.
