New Vera Wang Prosecco secures A-List distributor

Fashion designer and entrepreneur Vera Wang has chosen Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits to distribute her chic new PARTY Prosecco.

When you think of Vera Wang, you think bridal couture, Champagne toasts and towering wedding cakes. But the renowned designer has branched out into the world of Prosecco, becoming the latest in a stellar line-up of celebs, including Kylie Minogue and The Delavigne sisters, to launch their own fizz.

Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has been selected to be the distributor for PARTY, a premium Italian Prosecco from New Yorker Wang, who has shaped every aspect of the release from the grape to the bottle design. Its sleek matte silver bottle also features an invitation to “PARTY” from Vera. You don’t have to tell us twice.

“I’ve dedicated my entire life to designing how people celebrate, and not just their weddings – from how they entertain, to their tableaus and tablescapes, and now, what they drink. PARTY is a natural extension of what I already do,” said Wang.

Why Prosecco in particular? “When I think of romance, fun, laughter, joy and friendship, I think of Prosecco. It is the wine that personifies emotion and sheer happiness.”

The result of a collaboration with supplier partner Royal Wine Corporation, Wang’s Prosecco will be welcomed into the Royal Wine portfolio that Southern Glazer’s already markets and sells.

“Working with Vera Wang has been a pleasure, but what truly sets her apart from other celebrity-owned brands is her passion, attention to detail, and commitment to the success of Vera Wang PARTY,” said Doug Simon, executive vice president, national sales, Royal Wine Corp. “We’re honoured to be her partner on this fantastic project and look forward to being a part of everyone’s celebrations.”

Retailed at $25 (£17.80) per bottle, Vera Wang PARTY is crafted from 100% Glera grapes and has aromas of apple and stone fruit, citrus notes and fresh acidity on the palate, with a soft and fruity finish.

Steve Slater, executive vice president and general manager, wine division, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits had this to say: “Vera Wang is committed to being an active owner, leveraging her assets and brand, which will help drive great consumer interest.”

Expect to see the stand-out silver bottle popping up in many a New York socialite’s wedding photos very soon.
