Vinexpo New York 2021 is cancelled
Vinexpo New York has become the latest trade show casualty of the coronavirus pandemic.

Diversified Communications and Vinexposium, the organisers of Vinexpo New York have “reluctantly determined” that due to ongoing safety issues caused by the second wave of coronavirus, the 2021 edition of the event should not go ahead,.
The trade show was scheduled to take place over two days from 3-4 February next year. Vinexpo 2022 is still scheduled to go ahead as normal.
“While we are disappointed that we must wait to meet again in person, we believe this decision is in the best interests of our community and partners,” the organisers said in a statement.
“We would like to thank you for your continued support while we navigate these challenging times.”
Owing to its position in the drinks trade calendar, Vinexpo NY was one of the few exhibitions that was able to take place this year, as Covid-19 had not yet been discovered in the state. The first case was recorded on 1 March, and a state of emergency was declared on 8 March.
In May, the organisers were confident the 2021 event could go ahead, but on 6 October Governor Andrew Cuomo put in place renewed lockdown restrictions across the state, which divided parts of New York into tiered “zones” and forced non-essential businesses to shut in the worst affected areas.
