Kohler to focus solely on Lafite and Duhart-Milon

Eric Kohler, Domaines Barons de Rothschild’s longstanding technical director, is to now focus solely on Château Lafite and Château Duhart-Milon in Pauillac.

Eric Kohler will now focus on Lafite and Duhart-Milon

As reported by Decanter, Kohler, who has worked for DBR for 25 years, was most recently the technical director for all of the Bordeaux estates in the group.

His new role will see him sharpen his focus to looking after just two properties – first growth Château Lafite and fourth growth Duhart-Milon.

The move was made so that Kohler could dedicate more time and attention to detail to the estates, both of which are shifting to organic viticulture.

Domaines Barons de Rothschild has appointed Olivier Trégoat as technical director of Château L’Evangile in Pomerol, and is in the process of recruiting a new technical manager for the estate.

In addition to his role at L’Evangile, Trégoat will look after Château Rieussec in Sauternes and Château Paradis Casseuil in Bordeaux’s Entre-Deux-Mers appellation.

He will also oversee winemaking at DBR’s Long Dai winery in China, Domaine d’Aussières in the Languedoc, Los Vascos in Chile and Bodegas Caro in Argentina.

Meanwhile, former Vinexpo CEO, Guillaume Deglise, recently joined Domaines Barons de Rothschild as international director.

Deglise stepped down from Vinexpo in 2018 after five years leading the organiser of global wine trade events from its head office in Bordeaux.
