Les Grands Chais buys Maison Desvignes in Chablis

Les Grands Chais de France has acquired Maison Desvignes Ainé et Fils, a négociant business in Chablis, adding it to its existing portfolio of Burgundian producers.

The purchase was made at the end of last month through LGCF’s Burgundian subsidiary François Martenot.

Although a négoce business that is well known for its sourcing abilities and partnerships with some top Burgundian winemakers, Maison Desvignes also owns 36 hectares of its own vineyards.

The purchase brings LGCF’s Burgundian properties to four along with François Martenot, Paul Sapin and Moillard.

Mark Kears, Les Grands Chais de France managing director for UK & Ireland said: “This key purchase of Maison Desvignes Ainé et Fils has enabled the group to bolster our capacity of premium wine production in Chablis, as well as providing an on-going supply of wines to help us to ride the waves of vintage fluctuations. We are delighted to welcome them to Les Grands Chais de France.”
