London’s cheapest Michelin star meals revealed

Leroy in Hackney has been revealed to be the restaurant offering the least expensive Michelin-starred food in the UK, while The Fat Duck is the priciest.

In a list compiled by cookware brand KitchenKnives.co,uk, Leroy topped the list of cheap Michelin eats, with three courses costing just £23.

From the team behind Ellory, Leroy won a Michelin star just seven months after opening in March 2018 and has carved a niche for its high quality and incredibly good value food.

Jun Tanaka’s The Ninth in Fitzrovia came second, as the restaurant’s least expensive starter, main and dessert will set you back only £24.80.

Despite its reputation for pricey restaurants, London dominated the top of the list, with seven entries in the top 10, including Brat in Shoreditch (3/£26), St. John in Clerkenwell (4/£29), Kitchen W8 (5/£29.50), Trishna in Marylebone (7/£32), and The River Café in Hammersmith (10/£34).

The list ranks the restaurants in ascending order of the overall cost of buying the cheapest starter, main course and dessert on the restaurant’s menu. The study looked at dinner offerings, including tasting menus, for 151 Michelin-starred restaurants across the UK.

At the other end of the list, Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck in Bray emerged as the most expensive Michelin experience in the UK, as the tasting menu only concept means the least expensive meal will still cost diners £310 a pop.

Not far behind was the three Michelin star Japanese restaurant The Araki in Mayfair, where dinner costs a minimum of £310 per person.
