David and Victoria Beckham spent over £2,000 on wine at this restaurant in Paris

David and Victoria Beckham celebrated their wedding anniversary this week the only way they know how — drinking thousands of pounds worth of wine.

The Beckhams are known for their love of fine wine.

The pair were dining in Paris to celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary on 4 July, and decided to share a bottle of wine which can cost over £1,500.

The wine in question was, of course, a vintage Bordeaux. The Beckhams have a taste for bold Cabernet Sauvignons from cult producers such as California’s Screaming Eagle, but this time they ordered a bottle of 1990 Chateau Lafite Rothschild from Pauillac, Haut-Medoc. It has been known to sell for anything between £350 and £1,544.

Lafite was one of four wine-producing châteaux of Bordeaux originally awarded First Growth status in the 1855 Classification, which was based on the prices and wine quality at that time. Since then, it has been a consistent producer of one of the world’s most expensive red wines.

David and Victoria shared their choice of wines via Instagram story, which included a Grand Cru; this time a 2009 white Burgundy from AOC Bâtard-Montarecht produced by Domaine Leflaive. The wine has been known to sell for around £450 per bottle, according to WineSearcher.

David took to Instagram to share the intimate moment with fans, but neither he nor Victoria divulged the name of the restaurant.

“19 years WOW … 19 years ago, I was dressed from head to toe in purple … Happy birthday to the woman and the most incredible mom … I love you.”

Victoria posted a message of her own on the social networking site.

Fortunately, three Michelin-starred Parisian chef Eric Frechon has come to our rescue, announcing in his own post on the website that the celebrity couple dined at Epicure — housed within Le Bristol Hotel where Frechon acts as chef de cuisine.

The Beckham family are well-known for their love of fine wine, with David buying a Napa Valley vineyard as a present for his fashionista wife in 2008.

Back in October, Posh and Becks spared no expense when they drank almost £2,000 worth of vintage wine during a mid-week date night. Their drinks for the evening included a Château Margaux Grand Vin 1995, priced at £716 per bottle, a Château Cheval Blanc 2012 Premiere Grand Cru Class A, £430, and a Château Lafleur Pomerol 2006, which costs £601.

Victoria Beckham recently shared her expensive tastes with fellow celebrity Eva Longoria on This Morning, claiming that she wouldn’t even touch a bottle of wine if it cost less than £10.

Beckham’s condemnation of cheap wine came after presenter Alison Hammond asked what they would spend their money on if they were down to their last tenner.

Longoria opted for either avocados or wine, but Beckham responded: “For £10? I don’t think you’d like it.”
