Bob Maybank of London City Bond dies

London City Bond (LCB) has announced that customer services manager Bob Maybank has died.

Bob Maybank joined LCB in 2002.

Maybank joined LCB, which handles distribution and storage in the drinks industry, in 2002 after a long career with wine and spirits retailer Unwins.

Maybank “rapidly established himself as a key member of the management team as well as a good and close friend to both colleagues and customers,” according to a note LCB sent out on Monday, 15 January.

“He will be remembered with warm affection for his dry sense of humour, his strong loyalty, his calmness in the face of adversity, and his charm and ability to make any company feel relaxed and at ease,” it added.

“Bob loved his sport and was in strong demand behind the wicket, he loved military history, but above all he was a strong family man, and we at LCB are honoured that he included us within that family.”

The funeral will take place on 5 February in Hither Green, South London.

Anyone hoping to attend should confirm with dhogg@lcb.co.uk so numbers can be ascertained for the family. Any flowers should be sent directly to the crematorium.
