Bar for dogs to open in Chelsea

It might seem like a barking idea, but a ‘Pawsecco’ bar aimed at dogs is due to open in the London borough of Chelsea this week.

Paws for thought – a bar dedicated to dogs has opened in Chelsea

Claiming to be London’s first bar dedicated to dogs, the Pawsecco Bar will pop up at pet boutique The Pet Pavilion at Chelsea Farmers Market.

Keeping pooches cool in the summer heat with dog-friendly drinks, the bar will be open on Friday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday until September

Among the libations on offer for your four-legged friend are ‘Pawsecco’ white and rosé, a non-alcoholic juice drink made from elderflower, nettle, ginseng designed for cats and dogs.

Opening its doors this Friday, dogs will also be able to get their chops around Bottom Sniffer, a non-alcoholic beer beer made from dandelion and burdock.

Dog friendly ice cream will also be on sale for hungry hounds alongside gourmet canapés like grass-fed lamb, bone broth and organic chicken.

For those keen to enjoy hooch with their pooch, the bar will also serve Prosecco and beer to its two-legged visitors.

Since opening 20 years ago in Chelsea, Pet Pavilion has expanded to branches in Kensington, Notting Hill and Wimbledon and sells among the usual collars and leads a range of doggy treats created by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Sr.
